This is the I.S.B's Ranking structure. It should be followed as much as possible.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Core

- Director
The Director has the ability to recruit or eject players, settle disputes between clan members, and dictate diplomacy regarding other clans. He has the power to call off raids and do whatever he feels is best for national security of Sirius. This user receives Admin rights for the forum. The Director is able to sign off on Task Force operations and assassination orders, and admit recruits to the Task Force.

- Deputy Director
The Deputy Director is a secondary leader of 'The Core' and has the same rights as the Director with one difference: he has no control over inter-clan diplomatic matters. He can recruit members if he wishes but they do not have to go through the Recruit rank if he does not think they need to.

The Deputy Director can post arrest warrants, assign Task Force raids, and give shoot-to-kill orders.

(NOTE: THERE IS AN IMPORTANT LIMIT ON THE RIGHTS OF THE DIRECTOR AND DEPUTY DIRECTOR WITH REGARD TO THE EJECTION OF PLAYERS. EJECTIONS WILL OCCUR ONLY WHEN A CLAN RULE HAS BEEN VIOLATED. BOTH DIRECTORS MUST AGREE ON THE EJECTION IN QUESTION. IF AN AGREEMENT CANNOT BE REACHED, A COMMITTEE OF 3 HIGH-RANKING PLAYERS WILL BE CHOSEN TO VOTE ON A COURSE OF ACTION. AS THE CLAN INCREASES IN SIZE, THE SIZE OF THE COMMITTEE WILL INCREASE ACCORDINGLY, BUT WILL ALWAYS BE COMPOSED OF AN ODD NUMBER OF PLAYERS.)

- Field Agent

Field agents are the lowest-ranking members of 'The Core' and have permission to investigate crime anywhere in Sirius. They have the permission to issue Arrest Warrants and issue shoot-to-kill orders. Field agents can also post missions in the "Operations/Target Reports" section of the forums, but a Director or Deputy Director must sign off on the operation before it is considered active. Field agents also have access to the resources of the Task Force, and can use Task Force members to assist them if the need arises.

Field agents also have the ability to recruit new members to the ISB, but each recruit needs to fill out the ISB application form and be approved by one of the Directors before being admitted to the Task Force.

They also have the ability to recommend to the Directors that Task Force members be promoted to the Core. They may also recommend that a recruit be admitted to the Task Force. This should be done via Private Message, or "PM."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Task Force

- Sergeant Major

Sergeant Major is the highest Task Force rank possible, and the position is only open to one player at a time. The Sergeant Major oversees the entire Task Force, seeing that everyone has the necessary equipment, that operations go smoothly and on time, and ensuring that he has the resources he needs to combat crime in Sirius. He does not have the ability to post arrest warrants or set targets. While the Core's job is to assign missions to the Task Force based on the data available, the Sergeant Major's role is to work with his Sergeants and determine how these operations will be carried out. (For example, they might determine which players will assassinate which of the targets assigned by the Core, how many operatives will be assigned to each target, etc.) They may not assign one operative to multiple operations at the same time.

The Sergeant Major also has the ability to recruit new members, but each new member must fill out the application form and sit through the recruit phase. Recruits can only be admitted to the Task Force with the permission of a Director or Deputy Director.

The Sergeant Major can also recommend Task Force members to the Directors for promotion to the Core. They may also recommend that a recruit be admitted to the Task Force. This should be done via Private Message, or "PM."

- Sergeant

Sergeants are senior members of the Task Force. They take charge of operations when a higher authority is not available. They normally lead one of the teams dispatched when raiding a location as raids are normally carried out in groups.

While the Core assigns missions to the Task Force, the Sergeants are expected to work together with the Sergeant Major to determine how these operations will actually be carried out.

Sergeants may recommend to the Directors that recruits be admitted to the Task Force. This should be done via Private Message, or PM.

- Corporal

A Corporal is a more skilled player than the Private, and has been given a promotion for his duty to his clan or for his obvious skills. They do not gain any more forum permissions on the ISB website but they do gain the introduction of the 'chain of command' which places them in charge over the Privates if ordered to do so or if no member with a higher rank is present. They are the lowest rank allowed to make arrests on their own without the presence of a superior officer - they should constantly check our "Active Arrest Warrants" section of the forums to see who can be arrested.

Otherwise, they are expected to follow the orders of higher-ranking operatives, and carry out operations to which they are assigned.

- Private

The lowest rank within the ISB. As members of the Task Force, Privates are required to assist higher ranking members of the clan if asked. They are also charged with enforcing day-to-day law in Sirius. (This will usually just involve scanning traders for contraband.) Privates may not make arrests on their own, but can be assigned to operations if the Sergeants see fit.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Recruit

Recruits are new players to the game and to the clan that are given a small test period of 1 - 7 days to prove that they have what it takes to move up into the Task Force. They must arrange to be in-game at the same time as a Field Agent or one of the Directors so that they can be observed in the RP of the clan. They do not receive any access to the upper levels of the forum until they have been promoted. Any member of the Task Force can ask a recruit to follow them around during an operation, and members ranked Corporal and higher can bring them along on arrests.

Recruits are asked to use the character tags:
=|I.S.B|=Name[RC]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: ALL ISB MEMBERS ARE CHARGED WITH REPORTING CRIME THEY OBSERVE OR INTELLIGENCE THEY RECEIVE TO A FIELD AGENT OR ONE OF THE DIRECTORS. ALL INTELLIGENCE AND CRIME REPORTS SHOULD BE DELIVERED VIA PM. THIS IS FOR OUR RECORDS, SO WE CAN ISSUE ARREST WARRANTS AND PLAN TASK FORCE OPERATIONS.

Responsibilities of clan ranks updated as of 9/19/09.

I just thought we needed to be a little bit more clear about who was supposed to do what. Of course, until we get more members, these guidelines are going to be very, very flexible.
